Mentor Notes #155 - What are you ready to bring back to life?

Mentor Note #155

“The inner work was never meant to keep you inside yourself. It was preparing you to step forward differently.” - Sally Polihronas

Lets Dive in...

Hello Reader,

Last week I wrote about the moment when the inner work must become movement. I have stayed with that thought the whole week, and it had me thinking.

Knowing it is time to move and understanding what that movement should look like are not always the same thing.

We often imagine action as something bold and immediate - a decisive leap, a dramatic change or a sudden burst of motivation that carries us forward. But as spring approaches, nature shows us something quieter.

A new season begins before everything is in bloom. The light changes, the soil warms and small signs of life begin to appear long before the full transformation is visible.

Maybe our lives are the same.

We do not need to reinvent everything before September arrives. We do not need a perfect plan, energy or complete certainty. But we do need to respond to what is beginning to feel alive within us.

There may be an idea you keep returning to, a part of yourself you miss, a conversation you need to have or a creative practice that has been waiting patiently for your attention. You may already know what wants to move, but you have been waiting to feel more ready before giving it your time.

The truth is that readiness does not always arrive as a feeling, it is often created through participation.

Confidence grows when we give ourselves evidence that we can act. Energy begins to shift when something that has existed only in our thoughts becomes visible in our lives, a space cleared, an email sent, a class booked, an hour protected or the first page finally written.

Spring action is not about adding more pressure to an already full life. Movement does not always mean doing more. Sometimes the most powerful action is releasing what continues to drain you, making room for what matters or withdrawing your energy from something that no longer deserves it.

Instead of asking what you should achieve before the end of the year, ask yourself:

What deserves to be alive in me by then?

Let your answer guide the next move.

You do not have to force the whole season into being. You only need to create one honest sign of life.

The Takeaway

A new season does not require a completely new version of you.

It asks for a willing one.

Let spring be less about reinventing yourself and more about giving life to what you already know matters.

Something to Try

Complete this sentence:

Before September, I am ready to bring __________ back to life.

Then choose one visible action you can take within the next 72 hours. Make it small enough to begin, but meaningful enough to change your energy.

It might be clearing a place to work, returning to movement, sending the email, making the appointment, protecting an hour for an idea or beginning the conversation you have been avoiding.

Put it in your calendar and follow through before you feel completely ready.

Let the action become the first evidence that your new season has already begun.

I appreciate you!

Until next week,

Much love,

Sally xx

Hello Reader, This week I have been thinking a lot about the Book, Big Magic, Elizabeth Gilbert writes about ideas as living energies that arrive looking for someone willing to bring them into the world. If we do not respond, she suggests they may eventually move on and find another person to carry them. I have always...

Hello Reader, This lions gate energy has had me really reflecting this week, everyone has been manifesting their hearts out to create and expand their reality. This is where I landed... Mentor Note #153 Mentor Note: “Wisdom comes with winters.” - Oscar Wilde Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, I'm still in my 50 birthday energy, and as I sit here I know that I don't feel wiser because I have all the answers. I feel wiser because I am less willing to abandon what I already know. I have lived through enough seasons to recognise the difference between hope and denial. Between grace and self-abandonment, between caring for someone and carrying what was never mine to hold. This is the...
