Mentor Notes #118 - How to Make Today Count

Mentor Note #118

Mentor Note:

"Do not wait for the perfect moment. Take the moment and make it perfect." - Zoey Sayward

Lets Dive in...

Hello Reader,

This week, I’ve been reflecting on how often we wait for inspiration, for confidence, or for conditions to feel “just right.”

Watching my daughter step into her dance concert and performing a few weeks ago reminded me that the only way to create magic is to start where you are, with what you have, right now.

There is never a perfect moment, and the act of beginning itself creates momentum, alignment, and growth.

Waiting for ideal conditions often leads to stagnation.

True creative and personal growth emerges when you take action in imperfect circumstances, trusting that clarity, skill, and insight will follow.

Every step, even one taken hesitantly, builds confidence and opens new pathways. The perfect conditions you imagine are rarely the ones that matter- the perfect moment emerges from aligned action, not planning.

Taking that first step, even small, sets a chain reaction of momentum. It shows your commitment, signals your readiness, and invites inspiration to meet you halfway.

The more consistently you choose to act despite imperfection, the more your intuition, creativity, and confidence will deepen.

As you look onto 2026 it's time to take the steps you need to take action even when you don't think you're ready. As long as you are not forcing and moving with alignment the momentum will carry you where you need to go.

The Takeaway

Progress is created in the imperfect moments.

Waiting for the perfect conditions only delays growth.

Take the moment you have, and make it meaningful.

Action, not perfection, leads to transformation.

Something to Try

  • Identify one project, idea, or creative task you’ve been putting off.
  • Take one deliberate step this week- even if it feels small or incomplete. ( Even if it is writing the plan for 2026.)
  • Notice how momentum begins simply from taking action.
  • Reflect on how it shifts your confidence and opens new possibilities.

I appreciate you!

Until next week,

Much love,

Sally xx

Mentor Note #117 Mentor Note: "Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life." - Confucius Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, This week, I’ve been immersed in my daughter’s dance concerts - tech runs, rehearsals, and all the behind-the-scenes hustle. Watching them reminded me so much of my own life as a performer. I remember the countless hours of rehearsals, the early mornings, the late nights… and yet, it never felt like work. Not once did I dread stepping on stage. Every moment of...

Mentor Note #116 Mentor Note: “Intuition is the direct messenger of the soul.” - Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, I picked up the book, Women Who Run With the Wolves again this week, and it hit me- maybe more than ever, how deeply women have been taught to mistrust their own inner voice. The author, Clarissa writes about intuition as our ancient instinct, our inner wildness, our fierce knowing… and yet so many of us have learned to override...

Mentor Note #115 Mentor Note: Your 8-Year-Old and 80-Year-Old Are Cheering for You - David Perell Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, I read this last week and I just had to use it in this week's Mentor Note. I’ve been reminded a lot lately about why we are really here.Every one of us is doing life, learning, evolving, moving through experiences that feel random but are anything but. I’ve always believed we’re here to fulfil a soul contract, unique to each of us - and nothing happens by chance. The...
