Mentor Notes #107 - From Busy to Aligned: The Secret to Never Feeling Tired

Mentor Note #107

Mentor Note:

“If you become more and more involved in action, and less and less occupied in activity your life will change, and it will become a deep relaxation. Then you 'do' but you remain relaxed. A Buddha is never tired. Why? Because, he is not a doer. Whatsoever he has, he gives, he overflows.” - Osho

Lets Dive in...

Hello Reader,

I gave you the extended mix this week, because this quote was too good not to share in full:

“If you become more and more involved in action, and less and less occupied in activity your life will change and it will become a deep relaxation. Then you do but you remain relaxed. A Buddha is never tired. Why? Because he is not a doer. Whatsoever he has, he gives, he overflows.” — Osho

This week, I found myself reflecting on the days when I thought force and constant productivity were the only way forward. I pushed, hustled, and filled my time with doing. After a few years of that (and getting it wrong), I learned something far more powerful: what’s really needed is action, not endless activity.

When I follow intuition, create from alignment, and allow energy to guide me - the work flows. I feel more alive, not drained. It’s not about doing less; it’s about being more present in what I do.

I love Osho. He’s controversial, provocative, and unapologetically direct, but his words cut deep. I’ve taken a lot from his books over the years, and this distinction has stayed with me:

  • Activity is busyness for the sake of busyness - doing to fill the silence, to keep up or to prove something; it drains you.
  • Action is presence in motion - aligned, intentional, flowing from your authentic self. It energises you.

And this is why a Buddha is “never tired.” He doesn’t push through life - he allows life to move through him. True creativity, love, and generosity arise not from strain, but from overflow.

It’s so easy to fall into the trap of activity: endless to-do lists, saying yes when we mean no, chasing outcomes that leave us disconnected from our spark.
But when we pause and shift into aligned action, life feels lighter, and our energy expands.

The Takeaway

Your energy is sacred and life doesn’t reward you for being the busiest, it supports you when you are most aligned. Action rooted in presence leads to creativity, overflow, and sustainability.

There’s often a perception that doing great work means leaning in hard and giving absolutely everything to a project, or to life. But here’s the thing: there’s a big difference between excellence and perfectionism.

I heard Emma Grede share the best definition recently, and it struck a chord with me:

“Perfectionism is outward-focused. It’s worrying about what other people will think.

Excellence is inward-focused. It’s about effort, pride, and knowing you gave your best.”

Excellence feels expansive and self-led, it’s about pride in your craft, your growth, your joy.

Perfectionism feels tight and exhausting, driven by external validation and fear of falling short.

Something to Try

Action vs. Activity Check-In
For one week, track these two questions each evening:

  • What did I do today that was activity (busywork, pressure, “shoulds”)?
  • What did I do today that was action (aligned, flowing, nourishing)?

Notice the difference in how each left you feeling.

This awareness is the first step toward choosing flow over fatigue.

I appreciate you!

Until next week,

Much love,

Sally xx

Mentor Note #111 Mentor Note: "Surrender to change or suffer in a loop." – Unknown Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, I was thinking this week about my notes and how sometimes, when you look back on personal growth, it feels so much easier than living through it in the moment. Times of change, expansion, or elevation can feel like you’re drowning, like you’re losing yourself. They can be some of the hardest moments to navigate - even when you know they’re exactly what you need. I’ve seen it in my...

It's like July to September went by so fast, I blinked and I missed it! agh! As I felt the pressure seep in thinking shit I haven't done this and that I thought of you. It’s so easy to slip into the belief that “it’s too late.” That the window has closed for the goals you wanted to reach, the projects...

Mentor Note #109 Mentor Note: "You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean, in a drop." – Kahlil Gibran Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, Lately, I’ve been reflecting on my own spiritual path. It’s funny how the universe works - I was deep in thought about it earlier last week, and then I stumbled across an interview with Madonna and Jay Shetty that echoed the very same feelings I had been sitting with. After my short but wild time in the spotlight, I felt an undeniable pull inward....
