Mentor Notes #150 - The Energy You Bring Changes Everything

Mentor Note #150

Mentor Note:

"The mirror will never smile before you do." - Unknown

Lets Dive in...

Hello Reader,

Ok, I'm going straight in this week because when I read this quote I just had to share it. I literally paused and smiled when I read it.

When you first read it, it sounds simple and maybe even obvious.

But the more I thought about it, the more I realised that most people wait for the outside world to change before they allow themselves to feel different on the inside.

You wait until you feel more confident, until you achieve the thing you've been working towards, until someone notices you, until life feels easier or until you finally have a reason to celebrate.

And somewhere in that waiting, you forget that you have a role in creating the energy you want to experience.

Life will still have hard days. Things will go wrong, and there will always be moments where you feel tired, uncertain or overwhelmed.

But maybe the question isn’t how you create a life where those moments never happen. Maybe, it’s how you choose to meet yourself when they do.

Because the way you speak to yourself shapes the way you experience yourself, and the way you experience yourself influences the way you move through the world.

When you meet yourself with kindness, patience and trust, you begin to see life differently. Not because everything around you has changed, but because something within you has.

The Takeaway

The energy you bring into life often shapes the experience you create within it.

Something to Try

Tomorrow morning, before reaching for your phone or rushing into your day, take a moment to look at yourself in the mirror.

Instead of searching for something to criticise, ask:

"How can I meet myself with more kindness today?"

Then notice what changes.

I appreciate you!

Until next week,

Much love,

Sally xx

Mentor Note #158 Mentor Note: “Your life is always speaking to you. Most of its wisdom arrives in moments too ordinary to be noticed.” - Sally Polihronas Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, Today's quote really is my philsophy for life, and how I have lived my life for many years. Even to the point where many around me think that the deepest wisdom has come from my biggest moments, but in actual fact it's in the ordinary moments where I have learnt the most. We are taught to look for life-changing...

Mentor Note #157 Mentor Note: “You do not need to become worthy of what you are asking for. You may need to become available for it.” - Sally Polihronas Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, Last week I wrote about the ideas that do not leave us, the ones that remain while we grow into the person capable of carrying them. That thought led me back to a teaching from David Ghiyam. He describes prayer as a technology: not simply a way of asking for what we want, but a practice that transforms us and...

Mentor Note #156 Mentor Note: “The inner work was never meant to keep you inside yourself. It was preparing you to step forward differently.” - Sally Polihronas Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, This week I have been thinking a lot about the Book, Big Magic, Elizabeth Gilbert writes about ideas as living energies that arrive looking for someone willing to bring them into the world. If we do not respond, she suggests they may eventually move on and find another person to carry them. I have always...
