Mentor Note #141

Mentor Note:

"The deepest growth often happens before there is any evidence to show for it." – Sally Polihronas

Lets Dive in...

Hello Reader,

This time next week, I’ll be on a plane to London.

It feels both surreal and exciting.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been rehearsing, preparing, packing, and trying to tie up all the loose ends before I leave. On the outside, it probably looks like a lot of practical planning.

But underneath it all, something quieter has been unfolding.

I can feel myself standing on the edge of a meaningful chapter. There is excitement, gratitude, and a healthy dose of uncertainty. I don’t know exactly how this journey will unfold, but I have a deep sense that it matters.

And it reminded me of something I think we all experience at certain points in our lives.

Life rarely gives us proof before it asks for trust.

We often think confidence will come first and that we’ll receive a clear sign and a guaranteed outcome, seeking some external reassurance that everything is going to work out.

But that’s not usually how transformation unfolds.

More often, you keep going, while the evidence is still invisible and you continue even though the fruit or results haven’t appeared yet.

You trust what you feel before you can prove it to anyone else. (That magic gut instict)

And that can feel deeply uncomfortable because the mind wants certainty.

It wants progress you can see and visible results.

But some of the most meaningful shifts happen quietly, beneath the surface, long before they can be seen.

A seed does not question whether it is growing, simply because it cannot yet see the tree.

It trusts the process unfolding underground.

I think our lives work much the same way.

There are seasons when nothing seems to be happening on the outside, yet something profound is taking root within you.

Your job is not to force the outcome.

Your job is to remain in relationship with what you know to be true.

To keep tending to what matters and trust the unseen.

Because not all progress is immediately visible and not all growth can be measured.

Sometimes the greatest transformation is happening in the quiet.

The Takeaway

You do not need proof that your path is working.

Sometimes trust is the very thing that allows the path to reveal itself.

Something to Try

This Week Answer this question:

Where in my life am I being asked to trust before I have proof?

Then notice what changes when you stop demanding certainty and begin honouring what you already know.

I appreciate you!

Until next week,

Much love,

Sally xx

Mentor Note #140 Mentor Note: "Uncertainty is often the feeling of expansion before clarity arrives." - Sally Polihronas Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, I've been thinking a lot about change lately and that there’s a moment before everything changes. It’s not loud and it doesn’t arrive with certainty or a perfectly mapped-out plan. It usually feels uncomfortable. The brain is wired to keep you safe, and it tends to interpret anything unfamiliar as a potential threat. Even when you are moving...

Mentor Note #139 Mentor Note: “What got you here will not take you there.” – Marshall Goldsmith Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, I’ve been in full popstar mode this past week, rehearsing with Bardot for London, and I had a moment in rehearsals that really stayed with me. So I wanted to share it with you. Nothing dramatic happened, it’s okay, lol. But something felt different, actually to be honest, everything has felt different. There was a time, not that long ago, where a week like that would...

Mentor Note #138 Mentor Note: "Clarity comes from engagement, not waiting." - Sally Polihronas Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, There’s a myth that not only keep creatives stuck, it keeps many people stuck. I’ll move when I feel ready.I’ll start when I have clarity.I’ll act when it all makes sense. But I’ve rarely found clarity arrives first, more often, clarity meets us on the path. In the doing. In the showing up.In the imperfect step taken before certainty. Right now, I’m living inside that...
