Mentor Notes #128 - What You need to know about Stepping Back Out!

Lets Dive in...

Hello Reader,

Last week, I stepped back into rehearsals. I didn’t know exactly how it would feel.

Part of me wondered if it would feel like revisiting an old chapter - something I’d outgrown, and another part wondered if I’d feel rusty, disconnected, different.

Instead, something unexpected happened.

For a moment, I felt like my 25-year-old self again.

Not in a chasing-youth kind of way, not in a “let’s relive the glory days” way.

But in an energy way.

There was a familiarity in my body. A current. A spark I recognised immediately. And yet, it wasn’t the same because this time, I wasn’t running on adrenaline nor did I have something to prove.

I was grounded, focused and aligned.

There was wisdom in the room with me and I had experience in my back pocket.

It felt steady and it didn’t feel chaotic or overwhelming.

It felt right; Energising and light and it reminded me of something important:

Sometimes stepping back out isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about returning to a part of you - with everything you’ve learned since.

The Takeaway

If you’ve pulled back over the years, because life required it, that doesn’t mean your edge disappeared.

It means you were building roots and roots create stability.

Stability creates capacity and capacity creates the conditions for aligned expansion.

You don’t need to become braver, you’ve already been brave.

What you’re feeling now isn’t a call to reinvent yourself, it’s a call to re-engage.

But this time with discernment instead of adrenaline.
With alignment instead of urgency with sustainability instead of chaos.

Something to Try

Instead of asking: “What big leap should I take?”

Ask: “What makes me feel alive?”

It might be:

• Revisiting an idea you shelved
• Having a conversation you’ve been postponing
• Exploring a creative impulse you’ve ignored
• Putting yourself back in a room that challenges you

Movement begins the moment you decide you’re ready to step back out.

I appreciate you!

Until next week,

Much love,

Sally xx

Mentor Note #131 Mentor Note: “Life is lived in the quiet moments between the applause.” - Sally Polihronas Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, After being back on stage recently, something struck me again. The contrast. Performing is electric, fast, loud and energised. Lights, sound, adrenaline, connection - everything moves quickly and intensely. There’s a heightened aliveness to it, and then… you return to normal life. School drop-offs, emails, grocery shopping, writing at the kitchen table and...

Mentor Note #130 Mentor Note: "Protect your energy. You get to choose who and what you let in." - Unknown Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, Have you ever walked away from a meeting or encounter thinking, wow! I feel tired or drained. This week reminded me how quickly you can absorb energy that isn’t yours if you’re not paying attention and how it can shape your day without you even realising it. A comment, a vibe, a constant expectation - it’s subtle, but it builds up over time. As creatives, we...

Mentor Note #129 Mentor Note: Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do… is have fun. - Unknown Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, Wow, what a week it's been. If you’ve seen anything online, you’ll know Bardot (4 of us) reunited. There’s been press, buzz, nostalgia. But what you won’t see in the headlines is what it felt like inside my body. It was out-of-body… and deeply embodied all at once. For a moment, I was transported to my 25-year-old self - metallic sparkle, diamante jeans (thanks...
