Mentor Notes #123 - What would you do if you felt secure?

Mentor Note #123

Mentor Note:

"Do exactly what you would do if you felt most secure." - Meister Eckhart

Lets Dive in...

Hello Reader,

I can’t believe we’re already mid-January.

You’re probably wondering why your life hasn’t suddenly changed.

2026 arrived, the Year of the Horse was meant to stride in with power and momentum -
but instead, it feels like it’s still parked at the stables.

The New Year energy has dropped a notch.
The pressure to make something happen is creeping in.

You’ve done the things:
Manifested for 21 days.
Aligned yourself with the moon cycles.
Cleansed the crystals.
Cleaned out every drawer, cupboard, and emotional corner.

You scrubbed.
You rested (if you were lucky).
You swam.
You tanned.

And yet… that lingering feeling is still there.

The, “but I want things to change” feeling.

I feel it too.

For me, it shows up as this quiet question:
How am I ever going to get anything done with these kids running my days?

Different story, same tension.

✨ This is why this quote stopped me in my tracks:

→ “Do exactly what you would do if you felt most secure.”

Because so often, you're waiting for security to arrive before you move. You wait for more confidence, more space, more support, better timing or fewer interruptions.

But alignment isn’t always about waiting and it’s not always about perfect conditions.

Sometimes alignment is presence - being so connected to the moment you’re in that the right action becomes clear.

When you ask yourself, “What would I do today if I felt secure?”
things begin to simplify.

How you prioritise, what you stop negotiating with and what you act on without overthinking.

Security may be quieter than you expect - less explaining, more deciding - and letting that be enough.

You stop fighting yourself, and flow returns - because you’re not forcing anything.

The Takeaway

Confidence doesn’t come first, self-leadership does.

Security isn’t something you earn later - it’s an energy you practice now.

When you stop outsourcing your power to timing, mood, or motivation, you meet life as it is, and respond with intention.

That’s where momentum actually begins.

Something to Try

Today, don’t overhaul your life, just ask yourself this:

If I felt completely secure, what would my next move be?

Not the five-year plan or the whole vision.
Just the next honest step.

Then take the step needed even if it feels hard or unfamiliar.
This is how YOU will start to make change and build that trust with yourself.

I appreciate you!

Until next week,

Much love,

Sally xx

P.S. While writing this Mentor Note, no children were harmed - but many water balloons were sacrificed. I’m now off to clean muddy footprints and locate the five kitchen bowls they somehow repurposed. 😩

Where to next?

Mentor Note #131 Mentor Note: “Life is lived in the quiet moments between the applause.” - Sally Polihronas Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, After being back on stage recently, something struck me again. The contrast. Performing is electric, fast, loud and energised. Lights, sound, adrenaline, connection - everything moves quickly and intensely. There’s a heightened aliveness to it, and then… you return to normal life. School drop-offs, emails, grocery shopping, writing at the kitchen table and...

Mentor Note #130 Mentor Note: "Protect your energy. You get to choose who and what you let in." - Unknown Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, Have you ever walked away from a meeting or encounter thinking, wow! I feel tired or drained. This week reminded me how quickly you can absorb energy that isn’t yours if you’re not paying attention and how it can shape your day without you even realising it. A comment, a vibe, a constant expectation - it’s subtle, but it builds up over time. As creatives, we...

Mentor Note #129 Mentor Note: Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do… is have fun. - Unknown Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, Wow, what a week it's been. If you’ve seen anything online, you’ll know Bardot (4 of us) reunited. There’s been press, buzz, nostalgia. But what you won’t see in the headlines is what it felt like inside my body. It was out-of-body… and deeply embodied all at once. For a moment, I was transported to my 25-year-old self - metallic sparkle, diamante jeans (thanks...
