Mentor Notes #142 - The Moment Life Starts Responding

Mentor Note #142

Mentor Note:

Part of you leaves long before the plane takes off. - Sally Polihronas

Lets Dive in...

Hello Reader,

Tomorrow I leave for London.

And there’s always a strange feeling the day before you go somewhere meaningful.

Your suitcase is sitting there and your normal life is still happening around you.
People are making coffee, having breakfast, answering emails.

But internally, something has already begun shifting.

It’s like part of you leaves before the plane even takes off.

I’ve been thinking about that a lot today.

How change doesn’t always arrive in one dramatic moment.

Sometimes it begins quietly.

In the decision, the preparation and the willingness to step out of the life you know and into something you cannot fully predict yet.

I think that’s why these moments can feel so emotional.

Not because we know exactly what’s ahead, but because some part of us understands we won’t return quite the same.

And maybe that’s what growth actually is.

Not becoming someone completely different.

But allowing life to expand parts of you that have been waiting for more.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realised that the most meaningful chapters of my life rarely began with certainty.

They began with a feeling.

A pull, a knowing and a quiet sense that something was calling me forward, even when I couldn’t fully explain why.

And every time I’ve honoured that feeling, life has revealed something new about me.

Not all at once.

But slowly, through movement, experience, and being willing to meet life as it unfolds.

I think we spend so much of our lives believing we need guarantees before we begin.

But some things can only be understood once you are inside them.

Once you leave, or go and once you allow yourself to experience the thing your soul has been asking for. That's living a soulful creative life.

The Takeaway

Some chapters begin long before you physically arrive there.

Something to Try

Think about an area of your life where you can feel yourself changing, even if nothing on the outside has fully shifted yet.

Then ask yourself:

What if this feeling is already the beginning?

I appreciate you!

Until next week,

Much love,

Sally xx

Mentor Note #146 Mentor Note: "The longer I live, the less interested I am in becoming someone new and the more interested I am in being fully myself." - Sally Polihronas Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, I turned 50 yesterday, crazy, I saw my card and thought, wow, I feel like I’m younger. It’s like the soul has an age because I always feel like I’m in my 20-30’s. Even saying I turned 50 feels a little surreal, not because of the number itself, but because of what I thought this age might feel...

Mentor Note #145 Mentor Note: The things we remember most are rarely the things we planned. They're the people who made us feel at home. — Sally Polihronas Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, By the time you read this, I've traded beautiful villas, bustling cities, and some of Europe's most breathtaking destinations for my dad's more small town village in Greece. And to be completely honest... It has been a bit of a shock to the system. After weeks of travelling through London, Paris, Sicily and...

Mentor Note #144 Mentor Note: It’s not superficial to want beauty - it’s spiritual to honour what makes you feel alive. - Inspired by Sonia Choquette Lets Dive in... Hello Reader, I’ve been to London, Paris and now Sicily and I’ve noticed something shift in me the moment I arrived in Paris. It’s not something dramatic or obvious, but more of a softening. Like my system finally had permission to slow down in a way I didn’t realise it was waiting for. And I think that’s what I love about places...
